Does your child need an orthodontist?
This short quiz looks at signs in tooth alignment, the bite and habits and gives a rough idea of how soon an orthodontic check is needed. Look at your child’s teeth in front of a mirror, answer 10 questions and see the result straight away.
Your answers are calculated only on your device: they are not sent to any server and are not stored.
Question 1 of 10
Low need
No serious signs for now.
Continue regular check-ups. If your child is over 6 and has never seen an orthodontist, one visit is enough: sometimes there are signs that are not visible at first glance.
Moderate need
Some signs make an orthodontic check advisable.
Come for an orthodontic check in the coming months. Sometimes treatment is needed, sometimes monitoring growth at intervals is enough. The key is to make the right decision at the right time.
High need
Do not delay the orthodontic check.
Several signs may need early intervention. For example, front teeth that stick out far are injured more easily, and a jaw that shifts to the side can affect growth. Come for a check without delay.
Need scale
- Low
- Moderate
- High
Whatever the quiz shows, I recommend planning the first orthodontic check from age 6. Following jaw growth and the change of teeth at this age helps start treatment at the right time.

This quiz does not make a diagnosis and does not replace an examination. If there is pain, an injury or another change that worries you, see an orthodontist regardless of the result.

A good result is more than straight teeth
I assess the orthodontic result together with the lips, the profile and the whole face, not only the teeth. During the consultation I show you every detail, explain how your teeth meet and why I suggest a particular path. There is no need to rush your questions.

The basis of my approach
- Diagnosis starts from the face, not from the teeth
- A clear explanation of every step
- I do not suggest treatment you do not need
- The orthodontist, not the aligner, leads the treatment
My specialty and focus areas

What patients say
For several years the way my teeth were aligned bothered me and I wanted braces. Before the braces were placed there were several consultations to identify all the problems and how they would be solved. They explained very well what the problem was and how and in what time it could be solved. I really liked the service and the quality of the procedure.

Current announcement
First orthodontic check from age 6
At about age 6 the first permanent teeth come in and the jaws grow actively. It is a good time to see how the bite is forming. During the check we assess jaw growth, the change of teeth, the bite and habits such as thumb sucking and mouth breathing. A first consultation does not always mean braces: the goal is to spot a problem in time and make the right decision at the right moment.

Braces or aligners: which to choose?
Strengths and weaknesses of both methods, what comparative research shows, when I recommend which and the role of daily life in the choice.

When should a child first see an orthodontist?

Frequently asked questions
The questions I am asked most often on Instagram and at consultations. I can give an exact answer for your situation only after an examination.
At what age should a child see an orthodontist?
I recommend planning the first orthodontic check from age 6. At this age we assess jaw growth, the change of teeth and how the bite is forming. Some children need treatment, for others monitoring is enough for now.
How does the first consultation go?
I look at the teeth, the bite, the lips and the face and assess your smile. If needed, I order photographs, X-rays and additional analysis. Then I explain what I see in plain words and we discuss possible treatment options, the approximate duration and how often you will need to come. A first consultation does not always mean braces.
Braces or aligners?
Both are modern and effective methods. The choice depends on which movements your teeth need, your lifestyle and your discipline. I use aligners too. The main rule is that the orthodontist, not the aligner, must lead the treatment.
How long does treatment take?
There is no exact duration that is the same for everyone. It depends on how complex the case is, the method and the patient’s cooperation: coming to visits on time and wearing elastics shortens treatment. According to research, treatment with braces takes about 20 months on average; some cases we finish in six months, others in two years.
If my teeth are crowded, do teeth have to be extracted?
Not always. In many cases crowding can be resolved without extractions using gentle forces and a good plan. I make the decision only after diagnosis, taking the facial profile and the position of the lips into account.
Do braces hurt?
In the first days after the braces are placed and after adjustments the teeth feel tense and sensitive, then this passes. The cheeks get used to the braces quickly. If pain lasts long, a bracket comes off or a wire pokes, message me on WhatsApp.
What can I not eat with braces?
There are fewer restrictions than you might think. The main rule: braces do not like very hard and sticky foods. Slice apples and cut meat into small pieces. You do not need to give up most of the foods you love, you only need to change a few habits.
I live abroad. Can I have treatment?
Yes, I have patients who live abroad. We take your travel schedule into account in advance and plan visits around it. The interval is set individually, usually no longer than two months. Regular supervision remains an important part of treatment.
Can I have lip fillers before orthodontic treatment?
I advise not to rush. As the position of the teeth changes, the support of the lips and the profile may change too. The result of orthodontics is long-term and stable, while the effect of a filler is temporary. If there is still a need after treatment, it is better to consider it then.
Can adults have braces?
Yes. If the gums and bone are healthy, there is no age limit for orthodontic treatment. In adults we often plan treatment together with a general dentist, a prosthodontist or an implant specialist.
How much does treatment cost?
The cost depends on the type of bite, the treatment method and the duration. After the consultation I tell you the plan and the cost in advance. For details, message me on WhatsApp.
Are my photos shared?
A patient’s photo, video or treatment result is shared only with their written consent, and for children with a parent’s consent. Medical information is used only for treatment. The contact form on this website only turns your name, phone or email and a short note into a WhatsApp message; it stores nothing.
